Description
Abbots Lea, located at 5 Abbey Place in Jedburgh, is an early 19th-century building featuring two storeys and an attic. It has a two-bay design with a rounded corner bay that serves as a rendered shop with a flat above. The building is adorned with painted ashlar dressings and cills. The corner is swept, with a door at ground level and a window above it. To the right, which faces south, there are two bays that include, starting from the corner, a tripartite window and a large single window at ground level, with single windows above. The structure has a base course and a canted timber dormer that is slate-hung and piend-roofed. To the left, facing west, there are two bays featuring a large single window and a replacement door at ground level, with a window above the door on the first floor, a blind window to the right, and a small window in between. The windows are 4-pane timber sash and case, with plate glass in the tripartite window. The roof is piended and swept at the corner.
