Description
6 Canongate in Jedburgh is a mid-18th century tenement that was reconstructed in the early 19th century. It is a three-storey, four-bay rendered building with a shop on the ground floor. The shop front features a three-bay plate glass design made of painted ashlar, with the central bay being narrower and originally serving as the shop door. This is complemented by a glazed panelled door to the left, all unified by a cornice.
On the upper floors, there are pairs of single windows grouped to the left, with the second-floor windows being shorter. To the right, there is a single similar bay, and at the centre of the elevation, each floor has a small oculus. The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case. The building has a grey slate pitched roof that is lower than those of the neighbouring structures.
