Mowat And Co, Anderson's Buildings, Main Street, Scalloway

Mowat and Co is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay terraced shop located on Main Street in Scalloway. The building features a symmetrical design with lined render and painted ashlar dressings, along with an eaves course.

The south elevation facing Main Street is symmetrical, showcasing a vertically-boarded timber door with a rectangular fanlight above it in the center bay. There are shop windows in the flanking bays, and a former door has been infilled as a window on the outer left. The first floor has regular fenestration.

The north elevation at the rear has its ground floor obscured by a single-storey extension. The south elevation has four-pane timber sash and case windows, while the rear features four-pane windows on the first floor. The roof is covered with purple-grey slate and includes a mutual skew-cope on the right, along with granite mutual stacks topped with circular cans.
