Description
Hilton Cottage is a late 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house located on Main Street in Town Yetholm. The building is rendered and features painted sandstone dressings, with a base course, a cill course at the first floor, and tabs around the window surrounds.
On the east elevation, there is a centrally located doorway with a boarded door and a letterbox fanlight above it, along with a single window on the first floor above the door. To the left, there is a bipartite window at the ground floor and a single window above it on the first floor. The right bay has single windows on both floors.
The north elevation features single windows in the left bay on both floors. The south elevation has a blank gable.
The house has sash and case windows with four-pane upper sashes. The roof is covered with grey slate and has terracotta ridging, along with brick gablehead stacks and bracketed skewputts.
