Description
Hawthorn Cottage is a mid to later 18th century, two-storey, symmetrical three-bay cottage located on Main Street in Town Yetholm. The exterior is rendered and features a battered base course.
On the north elevation, there is a centrally located doorway with a boarded door and a timber canopy above. Flanking the door are timber mullioned bipartite windows, with single windows positioned above on the first floor, which are set hard under the eaves.
The west elevation has a blank gable. The cottage is fitted with small-pane sash and case windows. It has a steeply pitched grey slate roof, with a broad harled gablehead stack on the west side, a harled mutual stack, and thackstanes.
