Post Office, The Crescent, Town Yetholm

The Post Office on The Crescent in Town Yetholm is a mid-19th century single storey and attic house located at the end of an irregular terrace. It is constructed from rubble whinstone with stugged sandstone ashlar on the main east elevation. The building features raised surrounds around its openings, with tabs on the ground floor windows and long and short quoin detailing.

On the east (entrance) elevation, there is an advanced glazed timber porch at the center, which includes a panelled door and a letterbox fanlight. Above the porch is a recessed blank panel, and there is a bipartite box dormer in the attic above. The outer left and right bays each contain single windows, and there are pedimented dormers in the attic above these bays.

The south elevation has a bipartite window with a timber mullion on the outer left and a single window in the center. The west (rear) elevation features a catslide roof with a bipartite piend-roofed dormer on the outer right and a single window at ground level on the left.

The building has 4-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, a coped and rendered gablehead stack on the south side, a corniced mutual stack on the north side, moulded eaves guttering, a moulded iron hopper, and gabletted block skewputts.
