Description
Cheviot Cottage, located on The Crescent in Town Yetholm, is a late 18th century, two-storey, two-bay house that is part of an irregular terrace. The exterior is dry-dashed with a battered base course and concrete cills.
On the entrance elevation, the doorway is situated in the bay to the right and features a panelled hardwood door. Above this, there is a single window on the first floor. In the left bay, there is a bipartite window with a timber mullion at ground level, and a single window above on the first floor. The ground floor windows are small-pane sash and case, while the first floor windows are plate glass sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a partially rendered and brick mutual stack to the south, along with brick coping on the gable walls.
Additionally, there is a former stable block that is single storey with a loft. This rectangular-plan structure is built of rubble whinstone with remnants of harling, featuring timber lintels over the openings and a pitched slated roof with ventilators.
