Rowanbank, The Crescent, Town Yetholm

Rowanbank, located on The Crescent in Town Yetholm, is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house that is part of an irregular terrace and has undergone later alterations. The exterior features dry-dashed walls and concrete cills.

On the east elevation, there is a central doorway with a hardwood door, flanked by a single window to the left and another window directly above on the first floor. The outer bays contain bipartite windows with timber mullions at the ground level, while the first floor has single windows. The house is fitted with 8-pane sash and case windows. It has a grey slate roof, brick stacks shared with adjacent buildings, and concrete coping on the northern gable.

The property includes outbuildings, starting with a byre that has at least two construction phases, oriented east-west. This two-storey structure has a rectangular plan, is built of rubble whinstone, and has a pitched slate roof. There are five openings on the northern side at ground level, with timber shutters on four openings located just below the eaves, and timber lintels over the ground floor and loft openings on the western gable wall.

Additionally, there is a single-storey byre oriented north-south, also with a rectangular plan, constructed of rubble whinstone, and featuring a pitched roof made of slate and corrugated iron, with timber lintels over its openings.
