Description

Braewell, located on Park Road in Gifford, is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house with a single-storey outbuilding attached. The building is constructed of rubble sandstone, featuring plain and stugged ashlar margins that were added later.

On the west elevation, there is a central door flanked by later windows in each bay, with additional windows above on the first floor. The single-storey outbuilding to the left has machinery doors and a window.

The east elevation includes a stair window positioned off-centre to the right, a low timber lintelled doorway to the left of centre, and a narrow door to the right. There is also a later single-storey cottage attached to the south gable, which is not included in the current listing. The north elevations have blank gable walls.

The sash and case windows feature a 12-pane glazing pattern, and the building has ashlar coping on the skews and gable end stacks. The roof is covered with purple slates, while the single-storey outbuilding has pantiles.
