Description
Avenue House is a two-storey, three-bay terrace house located on High Street in Gifford, which was substantially remodeled around 1850. The building is constructed of rubble red sandstone, featuring an ashlar eaves course and grey ashlar margins.
The west elevation presents a severe appearance due to the raised grey dressings and the deep chamfer of the deeply set door located at the center. This door is complemented by a strip fanlight and a panelled door. Above the door, there is a single window at the first floor. The flanking bays on each floor contain stone mullioned bipartite windows, and stone brackets support the cills.
The sash and case windows have a plate glass glazing pattern, and the house has mutual gable stacks, topped with grey slates.
