Description
25, 26, and 27 High Street in Gifford is likely a 19th century renovation of an earlier building. This two-storey terraced house was formerly a tenement consisting of four flats and features a brick and stone forestair at the rear. The exterior is made of squared and snecked, stugged red sandstone with stugged cream dressings.
The west elevation has four symmetrical bays, with the two central bays closely grouped together. There are two doors, one of which is blocked and has been converted into a window. Above these, the first-floor windows are located in the outer bays, and all windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern in sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar mutual gable stacks.
