Description

Greenside is a house located on Main Street in Town Yetholm, likely built in the later part of the 18th century and modified in the late 19th century. It is a two-storey building with an attic and cellar, featuring a symmetrical three-bay design. The structure is made of sandstone rubble, with the eastern and northern elevations rendered, and includes a base course.

On the eastern elevation, there is a centrally located doorway with stop-chamfered arrises, a panelled door, and a plate glass fanlight above it. A window is positioned on the first floor directly above the door, with single windows in the outer bays to the left and right.

The northern elevation has two gabled bays on the left side, with a cellar hatch and windows at both the ground and first floors in the first bay. The second bay contains a single window at ground level. To the outer right, there is a recessed wing featuring a bipartite window at ground level and a single window on the first floor. A single-storey addition is attached to the west.

The southern elevation includes a gabled bay on the outer right with windows on both the ground and first floors. There is also a single-storey range, which may have been former stables, featuring five windows and a secondary doorway to the left. A lean-to with a small window is located on the outer left side, and there is a boarded door leading to an opening in the gablehead on the left return.

The house features 4-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, two box dormers on the eastern side, and brick stacks at the gableheads.
