Description
Gracehurst is a house located on Christison's Brae in Coldingham, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure set on a sloping site, featuring a single-storey lean-to addition at the rear. The front and northern sides are harled, while the southern side and rear are constructed from rubble. The building has a battered base course.
On the eastern elevation, there is a narrow boarded timber door at the center of the ground floor, accompanied by a decorative fanlight. Single windows flank the door at ground level, with single windows in each bay on the first floor. The northern side elevation has single windows at both ground and first floors, offset to the left of center, along with a small attic light offset to the right. An adjoining property projects at ground level to the right.
The western rear elevation is irregularly fenestrated, with the lean-to projection offset to the left of center. The windows throughout the house feature 4-pane glazing in timber sash and case frames. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with pantiles, while the rear addition has a corrugated-iron roof. The building has harled apex stacks and various circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1999.
