The Anchor Inn, School Road, Coldingham

The Anchor Inn, located on School Road in Coldingham, is an early 19th century building that has undergone later additions and alterations. This symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay inn forms the end of a terrace and features a lined and lightly bull-faced render. It has a base course, a lintel course beneath the eaves, narrow quoin strips, and painted margins.

On the southwest (entrance) elevation, there is a timber panelled door at the center, flanked by single windows at the ground floor and single windows in all bays at the first floor, along with a two-pane fanlight above the door. The southeast (side) elevation has a single window at the first floor to the right and a two-storey addition to the outer right. The northeast (rear) elevation was not visible in 1999.

The inn has plate glass timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with coped skews, and a corniced, brick-built apex stack with circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1999.
