Description

Circa 1920. Classically-detailed, cream sandstone ashlar memorial to 1st World War comprising stepped, square-plan base; tapering, square-plan shaft with blind, triangular-headed panels at base; inscribed, segmental-arched granite panels to S and E above; decorative carving to cornice. Squat, square-plan shaft above with dated face to S and carved wreath aligned above in segmental-arched cap. Surmounting square-plan sundial with metal dial and gnomon in place to S

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS AND GATE: low, rubble-coped wall enclosing triangular-plan site to front; rectangular-plan gatepiers flanking entrance; iron pedestrian gate. Taller walls at rear (painted and harled in part).
