Description
Ploughlands is a house that likely dates from the later 18th century, with some later additions and alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay, plain traditional rectangular-plan structure, featuring a single-storey addition on the outer right. The exterior is finished with painted harl over rubble, with painted margins and projecting cills.
On the southeast (entrance) elevation, there is a boarded timber door located centrally at the ground level, accompanied by a four-pane fanlight above it. There is a single window on the first floor, with additional single windows in both flanking bays. The single-storey addition to the outer right has a blind elevation.
The northwest (rear) elevation includes a blocked stair window at the centre, a single window at ground level offset to the left, and a part-glazed timber door in the subsequent bay to the left. There is also a single window in the single-storey addition to the outer left.
The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate and features stone skews, along with brick-built apex stacks that have various circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1998.
