Description
The Walled Garden at Purves Hall likely dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. It features a near L-plan layout and covers approximately 3,800 square meters. The garden is enclosed by heavily pointed coped rubble walls with tooled sandstone quoins, and there is a modern rendered wall to the southwest. A pointed-arched, boarded timber door with decorative hinges leads into the garden, and there is a decorative iron gate to the southeast. Along the southern outer elevations, there are various single-storey structures, including former stables and a gig house, as well as a modern garage block and a modern stable range.
