Description

The Walled Garden at Bonkyl dates from the later part of the 19th century. It has a near square plan with a chamfered angle to the northwest, creating a five-sided layout that covers approximately 2,500 square meters. The walls are coped and swept, constructed from heavily pointed sandstone rubble on the outer elevations, with tooled quoins and tooled long and short surrounds framing square-headed openings. The inner linings are made of red brick. Throughout the garden, there are boarded timber doors, and both central and outer paths remain intact. A lean-to potting shed made of corrugated iron is located to the south.
