Nel Logan's Bridge

Nel Logan's Bridge is a single-arched bridge dated around 1793, spanning the Preston Burn. The bridge has been later enclosed on both sides to create a cell beneath, which features a small, segmental-arched opening for the burn below. The structure is built from harl-pointed sandstone rubble with tooled rubble dressings, while the later infills are made of weathered cream sandstone rubble. On both sides, there are rubble voussoir arches with central keystones, and the bridge has rubble-coped parapets that are splayed at either end.

On the southeast elevation, there is a blocked, round-arched opening at the center with a plain keystone, a small pointed-arched opening centered in the cell below, and a segmental-arched opening beneath. Additionally, there is an arched door opening that is offset to the left. The northeast elevation features a blocked, round-arched opening at the center with a keystone dated '1793', a small arrowslit centered in the cell below, and a segmental-arched opening beneath. The interior was not seen in 1998.
