Description
This is a three-arch bridge built in the earlier to mid 19th century, with later repairs, spanning the Lambden Burn near Mersington House. The bridge is constructed from sandstone rubble, featuring predominantly droved sandstone dressings. It has segmental arches made of sandstone voussoirs, with coursed and tooled sandstone abutments. The bridge also includes coursed and tooled bowed cutwater buttresses that have stepped semicircular caps. The parapets are finished with droved quoins and have droved and chamfered sandstone coping. Additionally, there are near square-plan terminating piers that project on the outer elevations.
