Description
The Walled Garden at Tweedhill likely dates from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. It features a near rectangular plan and is enclosed by tall, coped pink rubble sandstone walls, which are partially broken. The walls have droved sandstone quoins and long and short surrounds around the openings, with a section of banded red brick lining on the northern side.
On the inner elevation of the north wall, there is a lean-to greenhouse, although some glazing is missing. Additionally, there is a lean-to potting shed and another single-storey store attached to the outer elevation. The garden has boarded timber doors throughout, including a boarded door with a round-arched window to the right in the east wall, which provides access to the stables. A large vehicular opening has been created in the west wall, and little remains of the original layout.
