Description
The structure at Tweedhill consists of piers, gate piers, quadrant walls, and boundary walls, likely originating from the late 18th century, with later additions and alterations.
The site is enclosed by a rubble wall featuring round-arched coping, which is shared with the Paxton House estate to the north and is partially broken in the southwest. Flanking the entrance are coursed and droved pink sandstone quadrant walls, which have regularly spaced, droved sandstone blocks on squared coping. The outer left and right corners feature square-plan, pyramidal-capped, coursed sandstone piers. Taller square-plan, coursed sandstone gatepiers with corniced, pyramidal caps are positioned on either side of the entrance.
