Description

Mid to later 18th century with later additions and alterations. 2 storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan house with single storey, lean-to addition recessed to outer left. Whitewashed rubble sandstone to front and sides; painted margins; random rubble sandstone at rear (heavy pointing); cream sandstone margins.

SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: part-glazed boarded timber door centred at ground; chamfered door surround; single window breaking eaves in gabled dormerhead above. Windows at both floors in flanking bays (1st floor windows breaking eaves in gabled dormerheads). Lean-to addition recessed to outer left.

NE (SIDE) ELEVATION: 2-bay. Small single window at ground in bay to left; single windows at 1st floor in bays to left and right.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: irregularly fenestrated.

12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows; small rooflight at rear. Grey slate roof; raised stone skews; replacement rainwater goods. Brick built apex stacks to NE and SW; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALL: rubble-coped, harl-pointed rubble wall enclosing site to front (brick-faced inner lining in part).
