Description
12 The Row in Longformacus is an earlier 19th century house, possibly incorporating older materials, with later alterations. It is a symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay structure that is part of an irregular terrace. The exterior features render pointed rubble with rendered margins, projecting cills at the ground floor, and chamfered cills at the first floor.
On the southeast elevation, there is a boarded timber door centered at the ground level, with single windows in the flanking bays. Above, there are small windows aligned with those below. The northwest elevation was not visible in 1997.
The house has lying-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows at the ground floor, and six-pane timber casement windows at the first floor, along with large modern rooflights. The roof is covered in grey slate, and it has cast-iron rainwater goods.
The interior was not seen in 1997. In front of the house, there is a cobbled path that forms part of a continuous stretch leading to the front of the terrace.
