Description
The Honey House, located on The Row in Longformacus, is an earlier 19th century house that has undergone later alterations. It is a symmetrical two-storey, three-bay structure that is part of an irregular terrace. The exterior features harl-pointed rubble with droved sandstone dressings, sandstone quoins, and long and short sandstone surrounds to the openings, along with flush cills.
On the southeast (entrance) elevation, there is a part-glazed boarded timber door at the center of the ground floor, which has a carved floral motif above it. A single window is aligned above the door on the first floor, with additional single windows located in both flanking bays on both floors.
The northwest (rear) elevation was not seen in 1997. The house has four-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, with a single rooflight at the front. The roof is covered with grey slate, and it features cast-iron rainwater goods. There are brick-built apex stacks on the northeast and southwest sides, along with various circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1997. In front of the house, there is a cobbled path that forms part of a continuous stretch leading to the front of the terrace.
