Description
Holmleigh is a late 18th to early 19th century house that has undergone later additions and alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay building with an originally rectangular plan, positioned at an angle on a sloping site, forming the end of a terrace. At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to addition, and the exterior is finished with whitewashed harl.
The south elevation, which serves as the entrance, features a boarded timber door at the center of the ground floor, topped by a letterbox fanlight. There are single windows on either side of the door at ground level, and each bay on the first floor also has a single window.
The east side elevation presents a two-bay gable end with single windows on both floors to the left, and a single window on the first floor to the right. There is a small attic light offset to the right of center. The lean-to addition on the outer right includes a bipartite window and a part-glazed boarded timber door.
The windows are timber sash and case with four-pane glazing. The roof is pantiled with stone-coped skews, and there are corniced, brick-built apex stacks. The interior was not seen in 1999.
