Description
Iona Cottage is a single-storey, three-bay house built in the later 19th century, with some later alterations. The exterior features squared and snecked sandstone with stugged ashlar dressings, while the southern elevation is made of sandstone rubble. The southern and northern elevations have flush quoins.
On the northern elevation facing South Street, there is a modern panelled door in the centre, topped by a letterbox fanlight, with a window on each side. The southern elevation has an asymmetrical arrangement, with a window to the left of centre and a modern window at the eaves to the right. The cottage has plate glass timber sash and case windows and a slate roof with brick stacks. The interior was not seen in 1995.
