Cartwheel Inn, 17 Wellmeadow, Blairgowrie

The Cartwheel Inn, located at 17 Wellmeadow in Blairgowrie, is a public house that dates from before 1840. It is a three-storey, three-bay building set within an irregular terrace, featuring harled walls with painted margins.

On the south elevation, which is the principal façade, the design is symmetrical above ground level. There is a bay to the left of the center at the ground floor, which includes a two-leaf part-glazed timber door flanked by heavy pilasters. To the left of the door is a fixed window, with another pilaster beyond, all situated beneath a deep frieze. The center bay has an altered window, while to the right is another door with a painted sign above it. The upper floors have regular fenestration, with the second floor windows breaking the eaves into dormerheads that are decoratively finialled.

The west elevation, facing Allan Street, features a gabled design with a window on each floor at the outer right. There is a flat-roofed single-storey building angled across the center and left bays, which is not included in this listing.

The windows are fitted with plate glass glazing in timber sash and case frames. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped rendered stacks with thackstanes and some cans.

Inside, the bar area has been modernized.
