Description

1, 3, and 5 Allan Street in Blairgowrie is a two-storey and attic flatted dwelling dating from the earlier to mid-19th century. It features shops at the ground level and is part of an irregular terrace on a slope that falls to the southeast. The building is constructed of squared rubble with ashlar quoins and stone cills, while the side is rendered. There is a band course present.

The southwest elevation, which is the principal facade, is symmetrical above the ground floor. It has a deep-set door with a fanlight in the center bay, flanked by shops. The shop on the right has a part-glazed center door, a plate glass fanlight, and fixed display windows on either side. The shop on the left features a part-glazed door with a fanlight to the right and a fixed display window to the left. The first floor has regular fenestration, with a small window in the nepus gable above, flanked by wide-centre canted dormer windows that are slate-hung.

The southeast elevation has a gabled appearance with an angled lower building adjoining it. The dormer windows have a 2- and 4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case, while non-traditional pivot windows are used elsewhere. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped brick and render stacks with cans.
