Description

13, 15, 15A Allan Street in Blairgowrie is a small tenement building likely constructed in the late 19th century. It has three storeys and an attic, featuring three bays and shops on the ground floor. The building is situated on a corner site with the ground falling to the southeast. It is made of stugged squared rubble with ashlar dressings, and includes a banded cornice at the ground floor, cill courses, and an eaves cornice. The windows are round-headed with keystones.

The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a canted corner with a pilastered doorway, a deep-set shop door, and a plate glass fanlight at ground level, along with a window on each floor above.

On the southwest elevation facing Allan Street, the ground floor features two fixed display windows and a two-leaf panelled timber door to the right, separated by pilasters. The upper floors have regular fenestration and a later dormer window to the right.

The northwest elevation, which faces Upper Mill Street, has a broad gabled appearance with two fixed display windows and a panelled timber door with a plate glass fanlight to the left, also flanked by pilasters. The centre bay is advanced, with a window on each floor and an architraved round-headed window in the gable head, while additional windows are present in the left bay on the first and second floors.

The first-floor windows on the northwest elevation feature a 4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case, while the other windows have out-of-character double glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped and shouldered ashlar stacks with polygonal cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews and block skewputts.

Inside, No 15 includes moulded cornices and an arch.
