Description

23, 25, and 27 High Street in Blairgowrie is a small tenement building dating from around 1830. It stands three stories high and has three bays above ground, featuring shops on the ground floor at a corner site. The structure is built from coursed squared rubble and random rubble, with ashlar dressings and quoins. It includes a base course, a ground floor frieze, and an eaves course, with architraved openings on the first floor.

On the southeast elevation facing High Street, there is a traditional shop on the left side at ground level, which has a deep-set two-leaf part-glazed door and a plate glass fanlight to the right, flanked by display windows. There is also a further display window on the outer left. To the right of the centre, there is a door leading to an altered large bipartite multi-pane fixed window. Each floor above has three windows.

The south corner elevation features a slightly set-back narrow bowed corner bay with a door at ground level, a clock dated 1991 above, and a single window on each floor above.

On the northeast elevation facing Brown Street, the ground floor has been altered, with a door to the right of centre and flanking circular windows, along with another similar window on the outer left. Each floor above has three windows, though the left bay windows are blinded, and there is a shouldered wallhead stack located between bays two and three.

The southwest elevation has a gabled bay with a single window to the right on the second floor, and the gablehead has been partially rebuilt in brick. The windows throughout feature a 12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped brick stacks with cans.
