The Golf Company, 29 James Square, Crieff

The Golf Company, located at 29 James Square in Crieff, is an early 19th-century building that has been altered at the ground level. It is a three-storey and attic tenement with three bays above ground, featuring a shop on the ground floor. The structure is built of rubble with painted margins and roughly squared rubble quoins.

On the northeast elevation, there is a two-leaf boarded timber door located in the center bay at ground level, flanked by three fixed display windows and a full-width fascia. Above, there are three regularly spaced windows on each floor.

The west elevation has a broad fixed display window and fascia to the left side of the ground floor, with a narrow, deep-set door to the right. There are two windows on each floor above, along with two additional small windows in the gable head, one of which is blocked. The gable is truncated by an adjoining building on the outer right.

The building predominantly features four- and twelve-pane glazing patterns, with one nine-pane window, all in timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is a replacement coped brick stack retaining thackstane and cans on the west gable.
