Description

The Jubilee Lamps, located in James Square on High Street in Crieff, date from 1899. This pair of cast-iron lamps stands on either side of the Murray fountain, which is listed separately, and they are connected by modern quadrant railings. Each pedestal features a cartouche inscribed with the words "IN COMMEMORATION OF THE DIAMOND JUBILEE OF QUEEN VICTORIA 1897" and is stamped with "Sun Foundry, George Smith & Co, Glasgow & Clippers Ltd." The standard of the lamps is adorned with entwined fish and is topped by a modern lamp.
