Description
36 James Square in Crieff is a mid to later 19th century, two-storey and attic, three-bay dwelling that includes a shop on the ground floor, situated within an irregular terrace. The building is constructed from squared rock-faced rubble with ashlar dressings and features stone mullions.
The east elevation is symmetrical, featuring a deep-set panelled timber door at the center of the ground floor with a window above it. Flanking the door are full-height canted windows with deep blocking courses, and above, three windows break the eaves into steeply-pitched gabled dormerheads. The windows are timber sash and case, with glazing patterns that include 2-pane, 4-pane, and plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slates.
