Description
14 North Main Street in Wigtown is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house that currently features a shop on the ground floor, situated within a terraced group. The building is constructed of painted rubble with ashlar dressings. The central entrance, which is modern, is flanked by plate glass shop windows in the original openings, with a secondary door located to the outer left. On the first floor, there are three plate glass sash and case windows. A large cedar-lined dormer has been added, which is considered regrettable. The building also has red sandstone mutual gable stacks and a tiled roof on the rear wing.
