Description
16-18 George Street in Whithorn is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house that includes a shop on the ground floor. The building is constructed from rubble with raised painted margins.
The ground floor features a pilastered shop front with a recessed house doorway on the left, a shop door, and a large plate glass window with a curved glass return on the right. Both doorways are topped with fanlights. To the left, there is a single window, and on the first floor, there are three single windows. All windows are sash and case with plate glass glazing. The building has a painted raised eaves band and end skews with skew blocks.
The roof is slate, supported by tall coped rubble and brick stacks with thackstanes.
