15 And 17 Castle Street, Duns

15 and 17 Castle Street in Duns is an early 19th-century building featuring a later shopfront. It is a two-storey, three-bay house that includes a shop on the ground floor, set within a stepped terrace. The exterior is rendered with ashlar dressings, and it has a base course, quoin strips, and painted margins.

The entrance is marked by an Ionic columned doorpiece with a cornice and blocking course at the center, topped with a rectangular fanlight and a modern door. To the right, there is a three-bay corniced shopfront with flanking pilasters, featuring a deep-set door at the center and plate glass windows to the right. On the left, there is an enlarged plate glass window. The first floor has windows in all bays.

The windows are timber framed with two panes, while the center window on the first floor is a four-pane sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are rebuilt brick stacks and an ashlar skew. A decorative cast-iron rainwater head is also present.
