26 South Main Street, Wigtown

26 South Main Street in Wigtown is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house that forms part of a terraced street. The ground floor features a later 19th century shop front. The building is rendered and includes ashlar quoin strips and margins, as well as base and eaves courses. To the right, the tripartite shop front has a recessed door in the center, flanked by plate glass windows and a consoled cornice above the fascia. The house has a door paired with a window in the outer left bay, and a boarded door with a rectangular fanlight. The first floor has three evenly spaced windows, which are sash and case with plate glass glazing. The front roof is covered in grey slates, while the rear has rubberoid tiles. There are broad mutual gable stacks with octagonal cans. At the rear, a catslide projection connects to a long single-storey building with a slate roof, and there is also a modern conservatory.
