Description
91-93 George Street in Whithorn is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house that originally included a shop on the ground floor, though it has undergone modern alterations. The exterior features modern roughcast walling with painted raised margins and banded angles.
On the right side, there is a shopfront with enlarged windows flanking a shop door that has a fanlight above it. On the left side, the house door also has a fanlight. The ground floor retains former shop windows that are sash and case with plate glass glazing, while the first floor has modern windows with narrow opening top lights.
Additional architectural details include a painted raised basecourse and eaves course, sandstone end skews, and corniced ashlar end stacks topped with octagonal cans. The roof is covered with good graded slate.
