Description

Late 19th century. 2-storey, 2-bay shop and flat. Cream sandstone, stugged and coursed ashlar to Castle Street, rubble to sides; polished dressings. Stop-chamfered arrises.

SW (CASTLE STREET) ELEVATION: gabled. 3-bay rendered shopfront at ground; panelled door with etched glass and rectangular fanlight at centre, flanked by plate glass shop windows; tiled base course rises to cills; band course above with shop sign. Chamfered angles at ground corbelled to square above band course. 2 windows at 1st floor; small window in gablehead.

SE ELEVATION: irregular 3-bay. Blank to left; door at centre with window to 1st floor; windows to each floor to right.

NW ELEVATION: 3-bay; regular fenestration. 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Crowstepped gable with corbel skewputts and reduced corniced ashlar stack to Castle Street; ashlar coped skews and rebuilt brick stack to rear. Grey slates.
