29 George Street With Walled Garden, Whithorn

29 George Street is an earlier 19th century, symmetrical two-storey, three-bay house. It features coursed rubble walling with polished painted sandstone architraves and angles.

The front elevation has five openings on the ground floor and three windows on the first floor. In the centre of the ground floor, there is a round-arched doorway with a keystone and deep cavetto reveals, topped by an intricate semi-circular fanlight and a panelled door. Flanking the door are single light, architraved windows, while the outer bays have simply margined pend doors, with the door to the right being blocked. On the first floor, there are three single light architraved windows, all of which are sash and case with 12-pane glazing.

Additional features include a painted raised basecourse, an eaves cornice with a modillion frieze, and a blocking course with a raised central panel. The end skews have tall corniced stacks, and the house has good graded slate roofs.

At the rear, there is a rubble walled garden that includes all the boundary walls of the property.
