Description

The Cross House, located at 2 George Street in Whithorn, is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house situated on a corner site at the junction with St John Street. It is positioned at right angles to the other terraces on George Street and features a shop on the ground floor.

The building is constructed of rubble with painted ashlar dressings. The south elevation includes a large shop window on the left, a window, and a modern door on the right, along with three first-floor windows. The west elevation has a gabled two-bay design, featuring a tall window at the ground level in the center and two first-floor windows.

The southwest angle is chamfered, with a shop door and a swept square above. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there are dressed gablehead stacks. The coped skews are complemented by skewputts.
