Description

The Grapes Hotel, located at 10 George Street in Whithorn, dates from around 1800 and consists of two storeys with a layout of three plus two bays. The left section of the building is the least altered, featuring harled walls with painted raised margins and angles. The left house has a central doorway with a margined cornice, a double-leaf panelled door, and a fanlight above. All windows are single light, sash and case style with 12-pane glazing. The house on the right has two enlarged plate glass sash and case windows on the ground floor.

The first floor has modern and uPVC top hopper windows. The building has an eaves bank and end skews, with tall margined and corniced end and axial stacks, some topped with octagonal cans, and a tiled roof.

At the rear, there are several two-storey additions from the 19th century.
