Fairseat Hotel, 2 Wigton Road, Sorbie

The Fairseat Hotel, located at 2 Wigton Road in Sorbie, is a house dating from around 1800. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure that has a mid to late 19th-century two-storey, two-bay adjoining block, which is now combined with the original house and situated on a corner. The exterior is harled with painted margins and quoin strips.

On the east elevation, the three-bay house is on the left, with the bays grouped towards the centre. The central entrance features a boarded door with a letterbox fanlight, flanked by windows on the ground floor. There is a small window under the eaves of each bay on the first floor. The two-bay corner block, which may have been a former shop, has a tripartite arrangement on the ground floor with a door on the left and windows in the centre and to the right, along with a fascia and cornice. The first floor features two windows that break the eaves in gabled dormerheads.

To the right of the gabled return elevation, there is a single-storey, flat-roofed addition. The rear of the property has various additions. The windows are plate glass sash and case with two-pane sashes in the former shopfront. The roofs are covered with graded grey slates that differ from property to property. The building has end and mutual gable stacks that are harled, with an ashlar ridge and coped end skews.
