Description
The Railway Inn, located at 96 North Castle Street in Banff, is a late 18th century building. It features two storeys and a dormerless attic, with a three-bay frontage and two later parallel gabled rear wings. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins. The central entrance door is flanked by small first-floor windows that are positioned close to the wallhead. There are pairs of windows on the ground floor and first floor, along with a pair of small attic lights in the north return gable. The two-storey, two-bay rear wings have doorways on the north return elevation and the east gable, with varied window styles including plate glass and four-pane timber sash and case glazing. The building has coped end stacks and slate roofs.
