Description
29-31 High Street in Tain is an earlier 19th century building that serves as a two-storey shop and dwelling with an attic. The front is made of tooled ashlar, while the gable and rear are constructed from rubble. Originally, the building featured symmetrical shop fronts with two windows, but now only one door with flanking windows remains, alongside an enlarged plate glass window to the right. The first floor is symmetrical, showcasing tripartite windows in the outer bays, an eaves band, and two piended dormers. The windows have two-pane glazing, and there are end stacks on the slate roof. Additionally, there is a rear wing and a forestair that leads to 1 King Street.
