Description
55-57 High Street in Coldstream is an earlier 19th-century building that was extensively altered in the later 19th century. It is a two-storey structure with an attic that was originally a symmetrical house and shop. The ground floor features painted ashlar, while the first floor is made of coursed rubble with long and short ashlar dressings at the angles and windows.
The central entrance consists of a double leaf panelled door set within a channelled architrave, which has voussoirs. This door is flanked by two round-arched bipartite windows on the first floor, alongside an arched single light sash window. The building has an eaves cornice and a blocking course. The slate roof has straight skews, brick end stacks, and two gabletted dormers.
