Description
7-9 South High Street in Portsoy is an earlier 19th century building featuring a single storey and attic, arranged in a 5-bay range that includes a shop and a 2-bay dwelling. The structure is built of rubble with tooled red sandstone dressings and margins. It has alternative doors and windows, with the shop located on the right side, featuring a central door flanked by original-sized shop windows. There are two timber tripartite dormers with pediments, dating from around 1900, that break the wallhead. The building has 2- and 4-pane timber sash and case glazing, with plate glass used for the shop. A single coped rubble end stack is present, and the roof is covered with slate and includes Velux rooflights.
