Description
1 Seafield Street in Portsoy is a building dated 1892, though it likely includes earlier elements. It is a two-storey structure that turns the corner of Seafield Street and South High Street. The exterior is harled with tooled ashlar margins. Notable features include a bowed angle bay, with four bays facing Seafield Street—one bay for the shop and three bays for the house at 3 Seafield Street—and three bays facing South High Street. The shop entrance, located at number 1, is centrally positioned and flanked by shop windows, with a larger modern window to the right on Seafield Street. Number 3 Seafield Street has a central door with flanking windows. Each bay features dormers with ball finials and pediments, and the angle bay has a shaped pediment with a large finial and a datestone. The shop windows have modern glazing, while the other windows are fitted with two-pane timber sash and case glazing. The building has a coped ridge and end stacks, topped with a slate roof.
