Description
The building at 2 and 4 Seafield Street in Portsoy is a bakery dating from around 1830. It is a two-storey structure with five bays and a rear wing. The front is made of tooled square granite, while the gable is constructed of rubble with painted reveals. The ground floor features an alternating pattern of shop windows and doors, as it was formerly two separate dwellings. The panelled doors have letterbox fanlights above them. On the first floor, there are three regularly spaced windows, along with two later 19th-century canted dormers that are slate-hung. The first-floor windows have 12-pane glazing, while the glazing varies in other areas, all within timber sash and case windows. The building has coped end stacks and a slate roof, along with a cast-iron rooflight.
